How to stop drinking at home

Avoid alcohol

According to the latest data, in one country half a million people die from alcoholism each year, which is far more than natural disasters and epidemics. These shocking statistics indicate the need for early action. Many are aware of this, but only 1. 7% of people with alcoholism seek medical help. The rest do not want to be treated at a specialized center or try to stop drinking at home.

Methods to get rid of alcohol addiction

For the treatment of alcoholism at home, special medicines, folk recipes, auto training and other techniques are used. The main thing when choosing is to use only methods characterized by minimum risk.

Taking medicines and folk remedies has the following purpose:

  • cleanses the body of toxic substances;
  • elimination of the main symptoms that appear when stopping drinking alcohol (headache, nausea, tremors, etc. );
  • prevents relapse.

Folk medicine

Traditional medicine has many recipes to help you stop drinking at home. They help cleanse the body of toxins, stay away from alcoholic beverages and strengthen the immune system.

The following tools are commonly used:

  • Boiling St. John's wort. Dried grass (4 handfuls) is poured with 1 liter of boiling water, stored in a water bath for half an hour. Taken twice a day for two weeks;
  • marigold broth with oats. Water (2 liters) is poured into a container and the unrefined grains of wheat are poured into a third of a plate, then boiled over low heat for 15-20 minutes. Calendula flowers (100 grams) are added to the stretched broth. Then the container is well insulated and left for 11-12 hours. Drink the resulting beverage once a day, 250 ml before meals;
  • bearberry broth. The leaves (40 grams) are poured with water (1 cup) and boiled for 15 minutes. Take 20 ml 6 times a day;
  • herbal infusion. Mix equal parts of dried herbs (chamomile or wormwood, thyme and centaury), pour boiling water and leave for 3 hours. The filtered infusion is taken at a temperature of 40 milliliters 3 times a day.
Traditional healers may also recommend giving patients decoctions, after their use of vomiting and alcohol avoidance occurs:

  • Laurel roots and love are crushed and poured with vodka, injected for 14 days;
  • European clefthoof leaves are poured with boiling water and left for 2 weeks in a dark place. The resulting tingtur is mixed in equal parts with vodka and given to the patient in the morning and at lunch time, and in the evening he is poured with pure vodka.

The above decoction can only be used after consulting a doctor, as there may be contraindications to taking certain ingredients. If you do not take it into account, you can harm the body instead of benefiting.

In order for folk remedies to have the desired effect, you must take them for a long time (at least 2 months). It is also recommended to do an enema cleansing, drink more water and bathe more.

Medicine

You cannot choose your own medication, as this will require you to contact a narcologist. He will give the appropriate medicine, taking into account the individual characteristics of the organism.

Usually, those who want to stop drinking can recommend:

  • enterosorbents (to remove residual ethyl alcohol and its deteriorating products from the intestine);
  • diuretics (to cleanse the body);
  • antihypertensive drug (with increasing pressure);
  • analeptic (if pain in the heart area);
  • sleeping pills (for insomnia).

Drinking pleasure blocking agents can be used to stop drinking. As a result, relaxation and euphoria do not occur, but only negative consequences remain, which gradually weaken the craving for alcohol. Special drug groups cause rejection of alcohol. Such a drug does not work for long, which is why it is taken for a long time. The need for admission is determined by the doctor.

Using hypnosis

Currently on the Internet, you can get suggestions for conducting hypnosis sessions at home. This method does not require much time (5-10 minutes a day is enough) and costs money. Dependent people must not know about it. The disadvantage of this method is that it takes a very long time to affect the soul (several months, and in some cases even a year). To save time and prevent negative influences, it is better to give priority to medical treatment when using an amateur approach.

In general, there are some rules to follow when hypnosis at home:

  • sessions are conducted in the phase of deep sleep (during this time the body is resting, and the brain remains active and receives signals);
  • when the patient falls asleep, one should stand near the head of the bed and repeat the prepared phrase encouraging the person to stop drinking in a voice with appropriate intonation;
  • the text should contain a statement to reject alcohol in the form of an affirmation (example: "alcohol makes you disgusted");
  • you can not use "not" particles, because the result will be the opposite (human consciousness does not see negative particles);
  • you may not use the incentive form ("stop drinking alcohol"), you will need to replace it with a confirmation of the results obtained ("you can easily release alcohol");
  • believe the result.

Lack of therapy at home

It is difficult to stop drinking at home, and it is important to follow some rules.

  • Side effects may occur if the disease is in its early stages. At a later stage, physical and psychological disorders are observed, which can only be overcome by a specialist.
  • Patients should want to get rid of bad habits themselves. Forcibly, one will not be able to stop drinking. In this case, only temporary effects are possible.
  • It is necessary to create the most comfortable conditions by protecting the patient from stressful situations, which are often disruptive, and provide support.
  • You need to get rid of alcohol completely.

However, the fight against alcohol at home rarely ends in 100% success. This condition is caused by the following reasons:

  • lack of necessary qualifications and sufficient experience of a doctor;
  • there is a high risk of damage;
  • there is no constant motivation in addicted people (in the clinic it is better to understand the dangers of alcohol and the need to stop bad habits);
  • there is a lack of psychological support (although the patient's relatives sincerely try to help him, they cannot instill in him the belief that he will be able to stop drinking. Only a psychotherapist can instill that confidence in his consciousness).

In addition, they are often intoxicated to distract from the surrounding reality and forget about problems. In such cases, it is necessary to find out the cause of alcohol addiction and eliminate it, which is only available to specialists.

Since you need to stop drinking abruptly, another treatment problem at home is the impossibility of full relief in the event of alcohol intoxication. These negative consequences include:

  • high blood pressure;
  • heart rhythm disturbances;
  • heart failure;
  • damage to the digestive system;
  • delirium vibration (in very severe cases).

A specialist will prescribe detoxification therapy in such cases

Cannot risk the health of your loved ones. Helping to stop drinking means going to a specialized clinic, where the patient will be given qualified medical treatment.
